Abhorrent Society.
How could anyone cause so much depravity and then expect leniency? How do we as a society condone this?
The fact that this man did such a heinous act and yet is given a lesser sentence is abhorrent. What kind of message are we sending, what kind of acts are we supporting if you can decimate someone’s life and except no more than a few years behind bars? It’s a life sentence for the poor victim, why not for the culprit?
We have gone soft. We have gone stupid. Laws and rules are there to provide order, but surely morals and society’s standards should have some impact on what goes on. I don’t know one person who thinks that man should walk free, yet because outdated, prescribed laws dictate; because written doctrine says so; we let murderers and rapists roam the streets. How long before he ruins another life?
He does not deserve the privilege of living.
